NYY 7, Cleveland 3

October 10, 2017 – 7:17 am

Turnabout is fair play. This one was just as ugly for Cleveland as game two was for the Yankees. Thanks to six unearned runs, we live to see one more game. And what a great comeback for Severino — after getting knocked out in the wildcard game after recording just one out, he goes seven very strong innings while giving up just three runs. Plus, Kahnle pitched superb in relief, striking out five of the six batters he faced.

So now it comes down to Sabathia vs. Klueber for the series finale. It’s still a pretty steep climb for the Yankees — Klueber is the best pitcher in the league right now, plus the Yankees continue to struggle at the plate, particularly Judge and Gregorius. But hey, it’s now a one-game elimination and anything can happen. Bring it on!
