NYY 11, Toronto 5

August 10, 2017 – 8:03 am

With this offense it’s all or nothing of late — they either score 7+ runs, or 2 or fewer. With Tanaka struggling again, and a bullpen that’s also kind of hit or miss, it was a good thing they did score 11 runs. Particularly nice to see Todd Frazier go 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs — sure would be nice to see him start hitting closer to his career numbers. Also, how about Garrett Cooper’s night, 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs? After a somewhat slow start after getting called up last month, he’s now hit in this last four games. He had a hot bat in the minors, so if he can start hitting like that in the big leagues that should be a real boost for the offense, which to say the least they sorely need.
