NYY 2, Cleveland 1

August 6, 2017 – 8:00 am

The offense continues to be MIA, but at least the Yankees got some good pitching and some excellent defense in this one. Jordan Montgomery made a strong case for keeping him in the starting rotation, giving up just one run on three hits in five strong innings. Betances continues to look good in the eighth, but once again Chapman got roughed up a little, and it was only a great catch by Brett Gardner that kept him from a blown save.
