Boston 3, NYY 0

All things considered, I guess you have to be happy with a series split here. And so the non-winning streak continues — nine straight series without a series win. On the one hand, it’s a plus that they continue to stay in contention in spite of playing so poorly. But on the other hand, it would be kind of refreshing to see them out of the race and concentrating on next year. The biggest worry I have at this point is that they stay in contention, and then make some stupid trade(s) trying to bolster their chances while sacrificing future prospects. That would be a long-term disaster. Forget about this season and concentrate on the next couple of years.
