NYY 11, Kansas City 7

May 18, 2017 – 7:44 am

Now that’s an impressive win! Jason Vargas came into the game with a 1.01 ERA, best in the AL. And the Baby Bombers promptly tagged him for six runs in just four innings. And as is becoming the norm for this team, the production came from all up and down the lineup, with everyone getting at least one hit and the first four batters going a combined 9-for-18. Incredible stuff.

And on the mound, Pineda was certainly good enough, delivering a quality start — at least if you only count earned runs. And probably more importantly, all the runs he did give up were after the Yankees had gotten a 6-0 lead. With the current Yankee offense, that’s as good of pitching as they really need!
