Houston 10, NYY 7

May 15, 2017 – 12:35 pm

Well, that was certainly ugly. With the Yankees needing to win both games of this double-header to gain a series split, the starting pitchers, Severino and Tanaka, gave them all of 4 innings combined while allowing 11 runs. Had it not been for a big 6-run seventh inning in the first game, the Astros would have swept the series. As it is, the Yankees lose three of four, in addition to losing closer Aroldis Chapman for at least a month.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this team rebounds. They are on the road next at Kansas City and Tampa Bay, two sub-.500 teams, so hopefully they will quickly get their mojo back!
