Cincinnati 5, NYY 3

May 10, 2017 – 7:52 am

Is it time to start worrying about Sabathia? That’s four bad starts in a row now — 22 earned runs over just 20.2 innings for a 9.58 ERA over that period. Seems like he would do this last year — pitch pretty well for a month or two, then stink it up, then start pitching better. Totally unpredictable. I guess as long as he’s the number five starter, you just live with it? The Yankee offense was a bit off in this one, so it ended up in the loss column. But given that they are averaging 5.9 runs per game, even with CC stinking it up, they’ll still have a chance of winning.
