White Sox 4, NYY 1

April 19, 2017 – 7:38 am

And so the eight game win streak comes to an end. Not much you can do when you got someone pitching like Miguel Gonzalez was. It was pretty obvious from the first couple of innings that runs were going to be scarce. The good news is that Luis Severino pitched excellent as well. He did give up two home runs that netted four runs, but still he looked as good as ever, giving up just three hits while striking out ten and not walking a batter. So even though this one goes in the L column, it’s still encouraging as the Yankee starting rotation continues to pitch well above expectations. And in the long run, that’s what is going to determine where the team is come October.
