NYY 4, St. Louis 3

April 15, 2017 – 7:38 am

Everything is starting to click now. Tanaka looks to be getting back in form after a rocky start, going 6.1 innings and giving up only 3 runs (a “quality” start). The bullpen is starting to look like everything it was advertised to be, with Tyler Clippard bailing Tanaka out of a second-and-third one out situation to preserve the lead and ultimately the win. And the offense keeps coming through, with someone different contributing each night — in this one it was Castro and Romine with the home runs that made the difference. And so the Yankees are now in second place in the East. Nice comeback from that terrible start.
