Baltimore 5, NYY 4

July 31, 2012 – 9:19 am

And it just gets uglier and uglier. After looking so good for so long, the Yankees are now in somewhat of a tailspin, losing 8 of their last 11 games. Yet another bad outing for the bullpen, with Boone Logan doing the honors this time. And the Yankee offense has once again disappeared — over this 3-game losing streak, the 2-5 hitters gave gone 5-for-48 (.104) with 19 Ks. And to make matters worse, it looks like we’re now going to lose Mark Teixeira for at least a couple of games, maybe more.

But then that’s just baseball, no? Slumps happen, injuries happen. The fact remains that the Yankees still have the best record in the AL, and still have a huge 6.5 game lead — and they didn’t get there by accident. So no need to panic, right?
