LA Angels 10, NYY 8

July 15, 2012 – 8:41 pm

Meh — 10-8 games are for little league and softball, not the MLB. Anytime you get 18 runs scored, you know there was a lot of ugliness, and the team that won did so just because they were a bit less ugly. Ivan Nova pitched bad, but so did Jared Weaver. The Yankee bullpen pitched even worse than Nova, but so did the Angels bullpen. Maybe the difference came down to the fact that the Yankees were even ugly running the bases, whereas LA wasn’t? Who knows, who cares. Bottom line is that it’s a series win against a contending team, so put the series in the plus column and move on.
