With the anemic Yankee offense up against the likes of Johnny Cueto, about the only chance the Yankees had today was for CC Sabathia to throw a near-perfect game. For a while it looked like CC might just do that, but things started falling apart the third time through the order. In the sixth and seventh innings, he allowed 8 of 13 batters to reach base (4 BBs, 2 1Bs, 2 HRs) and that was that. Three runs is more than enough to beat this Yankee team.

So now they are a measly one game over .500, and just one game out of last place. The cellar looms……
