NYY 11, LA Angels 5

April 16, 2012 – 12:22 am

Weird outing from Ivan Nova. He dominated the 3-5 hitters, holding them to 1-for-9 with 4 Ks. But then the bottom of the order went 5-for-7 with 2 BBs and scored 4 runs. And in the fifth, after being handed a seven run lead, he walks the lead-off batter. You just can’t do that. Sheez.

How about my man Boone Logan? No LOOGYness for him in this game — comes in to pitch the ninth with three righties due up. And proceeds to strike out the side. Move over Soriano, I think we have a new seventh inning guy.
