NYY 9, Seattle 3

September 13, 2011 – 11:46 am

Lots of positives in this one — Curtis Granderson and Brett Gardner, both of whom had been slumping, had multiple-hit games, and Mark Teixeira, who has pretty much been in a season long semi-slump, also had a two-hit game including a long solo home run which got the ball rolling for the Yankees in what ended up being a five-run fourth innings. And as if the nice offensive show wasn’t enough, Phil Hughes put in his second “quality start” in a row.

It’s just one game, but at least last night the Yankees actually looked like a team that could win their division.
