It’s Still A Series Win

Seattle 8, NYY 4. So what are you going to do? CC Sabathia has been anywhere from good to great over the last 2+ months, so he was due for a stinker. And that’s exactly what happened here. Oh well, the Yankees still won the series so that’s three series wins in a row, which is ultimately what the season is all about. And on the positive side, Robinson Cano is continuing to heat up — look who’s back on top of all Yankee hitters in BA — and also Hideki Matsui had a good night, getting his first home run since June 14. That’s a good sign that the extended “layoff” from not being able to DH during interleague play didn’t hurt Godzilla.

So now it’s Toronto in for a 4-game series, with A.J. Burnett on the mound. A.J. has been lights out his last three appearances, but he’s been inconsistent all year. Will he slip back in to his old pattern or can he keep up the pace he’s been on?
