Once Again On A Roll

NYY 4, Seattle 2. Bad night for the Andy Pettitte bashers, as Andy delivered yet another quality start. And good thing he did, as Seattle’s Jarrod Washburn was matching up with him in a classic pitchers’ duel. Well, at least until the 6th inning when Alex Rodriguez went yard on him with the game-winning home run. So it wasn’t a good night for the A-Rod bashers as well. That’s now back-to-back games where the “clutchless” A-Rod has delivered a clutch home run. Since getting a couple of off days 11 days ago, Alex has raised his BA from .212 to .239. At that pace, he’ll be hitting .400 by early September!

Andy DeliversThe Yankees have now won 7 in a row — and remember, this all started when Girardi got thrown out of the second game with Atlanta. In fact, since then the Yankees have not even been behind in any game — pretty amazing. And with CC on the mound today back-to-back series sweeps is certainly a possibility. It’s been a year of streaks so far, but now is the time for the Yankees to start playing consistent. The pitching is there, and with A-Rod seemingly back in a groove, the hitting should be there as well. Full speed ahead!
