Turn Out The Lights…..

Seattle 3, NYY 1. The Yankees were playing the worst team in the league and facing a pitcher making his first ever start, and they end up getting beat 3-1 on a 2-hitter.  That’s all you need to know about this team this year.  No offense, period.  A struggling Andy Pettitte gives them a quality start, but to no avail.  Certainly this should put an end to what little silly talk there was left of making the playoffs.  The real “race” now is for 3rd place in the East — with Toronto only a half-game back and playing far better baseball than the Yankees, even that is looking dicey.  About the only good news is that with only 21 games left, they are probably not going to finish in last place.

It’s going to be an interesting off-season!
