The hitting continues to improve, although it’s still not where it needs to be if the Yankees are going to make a serious run at the playoffs. A-Rod seems to be back on track, but Giambi is back to struggling. The catcher position is problematic at this point — that’s probably not going to improve until next year.

The best news here is that Jeter is hitting lights out — maybe The Captain’s offense will light a fire under everyone else.

The starting pitching continues to be amazing. And with only two legitimate starters in the rotation! Also, after a rough patch the bullpen seems to have settled down. Although given that the last opponent was Kansas City, it’s hard to get too excited. This series against Toronto will be the true test.
