Sweep Part Deux

NYY 5, Minnesota 1.  Yet another great start for Mike Mussina, who is in the process of putting together one of his best, if not the best, years he has had in a Yankee uniform.  That’s ten straight starts where he’s gone 6+ innings and he’s given up three or fewer runs in nine of those ten starts.  And in the tenth one, he only allowed four runs over eight innings.  Over that period he is 6-2 with a 2.57 ERA.  Right now he is the ace of the staff, probably the MVP for the year.  Pretty amazing given that less than a year ago he had lost his spot in the rotation and many of the pundits were saying his career was over.

So now it’s a day off and then on to Fenway and the hated Bosox.  Everything is starting to come together for the Yankees, so the weekend series should be a fun one!
