NYY 2, Oakland 1.  These Yankees sure are becoming painfully predictable.  Great pitching combined with dismal hitting.  At least today the lack of hitting was excusable, going up against Justin Duchscherer, arguably the best pitcher in the AL these days.  But Andy Pettitte did in fact bring his A game, and then some — and once again, The ‘Stache comes through with the game-winner.  Say what you will about Giambi, the guy is a clutch hitter.  Even when he’s in a prolonged slump — he came in to the game 3-for-28 (.107) in his last 10 games, and yet comes up with the home run at exactly the right time.

For July, the team is now 9-6, and have scored two or fewer runs in eight of those fifteen games.  With Ponson and Rassner starting the next two games, it would be a nice time for the offense to finally show up.  But then, we’ve been saying that for some time now…..
