No Surprise There

Toronto 5, NYY 0.  You could certainly see this one coming a mile away.  A team that struggles to score just two runs against pitchers with career ERAs of 5.00+ is clearly going to struggle to just get two hits off a pitcher of Roy Halladay’s caliber.

As Michael Kay is fond of noting, a team that is playing as bad as the Yankees are playing right now will always look like they aren’t even trying.  So you really have to just trust that this is eating them alive and that they are in fact busting their tails.  But you’d have a helluva time proving they aren’t just mailing it in right now.  Poor Joe Girardi — as much as he hates to lose, this team has got to driving him up the wall.
