Hello Offense!

NYY 9, Toronto 4. Now that’s the perfect recipe for a W with your number four pitcher on the mound. Lots of runs, and four innings of zeroes from the bullpen. Even LaTroy put up a zero. Rasner continues to be serviceable as a fill-in — scary at times, but as long at the bullpen continues to shine he seems to be able to keep the Yankees in the game. Offensively it was nice to see Brett Gardner go 2-for-2 with the 3 RBI’s. Girardi is doing the right thing with him — keeping him somewhat out of the spotlight in the nine hole while he gets accustomed to big league pitching, and letting Jeter lead off. If Gardner keeps developing, then move him to the lead off spot. Makes a lot of sense where his speed on the bases could really start paying dividends.
