Who’s Hot, Who’s Not: Hitting

Name G AB R H HR RBI BB SO LOB AVG OBP SLG
Abreu 9 33 6 4 0 2 7 6 15 .121 .275 .152
Betemit 9 26 3 6 1 4 2 11 15 .231 .286 .385
Cabrera 9 32 0 7 0 1 1 3 17 .219 .265 .250
Cano 9 35 2 12 0 6 0 2 16 .343 .361 .457
Damon 8 26 4 8 0 3 2 7 4 .308 .357 .423
Gardner 6 21 4 3 0 3 2 5 7 .143 .208 .143
Giambi 10 29 5 5 1 9 7 6 15 .172 .342 .379
Jeter 9 36 3 9 0 2 4 4 14 .250 .325 .306
Molina 7 16 1 3 0 0 1 6 8 .188 .278 .188
Posada 9 32 3 6 0 3 3 12 17 .188 .250 .250
Rodriguez 10 35 11 12 4 9 5 4 13 .343 .439 .714

That’s about as ugly as it gets. Beyond Rodriquez and Cano, no one is hitting. When you have A-Rod sandwiched in between Abreu at .121 for the last 10 games and Giambi at .172 — well, you see why they’re not scoring any runs. And don’t look now, but that’s Scott Kazmir they’ll be up against Tuesday. Argh.

Overall hard to complain about the pitching of late. Great numbers for the bullpen, pretty good stuff from the starters with the exception of Mussina who’s been absolutely great, and Ponson who has been….. well, he’s been Ponson. How much longer can they continue with him in the five spot?
